Charlie Charges Through the Field at Zandvoort
Charlie delivered a mega performance in Zandvoort, as the European GT4 Series returned alongside GT World Challenge Sprint Series to take on Zandvoort circuit.
The weekend proved to be a momentum-builder, capped off by one of the most jaw-dropping overtakes of the season so far.
Kicking off the Dutch weekend, teammate Callum lined up in P22 for Race One. After a clean start, he handed the car to Charlie in P21. With Charlie behind the wheel he valiantly fought his way forward, moving up 10 places in relatively quick succession as the clock ran down.
At the beginning of his stint, Charlie set up an impressive four-car overtake, setting the pair up brilliantly for a P11 finish as the chequered flag came out.
In Race Two, the duo started further up the order in P10, thanks to a stronger qualifying effort. Over the race distance, they fought tooth and nail, making up ground, but ultimately crossing the line where they started — P10. It wasn’t the step forward they’d hoped for, but crucial points on the board and consistent pace across both stints showed that Charlie and Callum have got what it takes to fight at the front in one of the most challenging GT4 categories in the world.
Charlie said: "Zandvoort was all about execution. We didn’t start where we wanted, but once I got in the car, I knew we could make something happen. That final-lap move — that’s the kind of racing I live for. Every race we’re getting sharper, faster, more in sync. And that’s exactly what we need heading into Spa."
The next stop? Spa-Francorchamps — the jewel in the GT racing crown. As part of the 24 Hours of Spa support package, the GT4 European Series will race in front of over 100,000+ fans. It’s the biggest weekend of the year, and Charlie and Callum are gunning for the podium.
The pace is there. The hunger is obvious. Now it’s time to deliver.
