Nurburgring: Race Recap

The penultimate round of the European GT4 season saw Charlie, Callum and their #812 McLaren head to the Nürburgring — one of the most iconic circuits in the world motorsport.

From the first laps in testing through to qualifying and both races, Charlie showed steady progress and adapted quickly to the challenges of the weekend. His efforts in qualifying delivered a breakthrough performance, breaking the #812 car into the top five.

Saturday’s race saw Callum take the start from P21. He wasted no time moving forward, climbing ten places in the opening laps and putting the car on the verge of the top ten. The charge was cut short by a coolant issue that forced an early retirement and ended what was shaping up to be an impressive recovery drive.

On Sunday, Charlie lined up for Race 2. A slow get away dropped him back a few positions, but once the race settled, he began working his way forward and regained lost ground. Callum handled the second stint, keeping the car in contention and bringing it home in the position they had started.

With only one round remaining in the European GT4 season, the focus now shifts to Barcelona. It’s a track that holds good memories for Charlie and Callum, who crossed the line P1 there in the GT4 Winter Series earlier this year before a post-race penalty placed them third. Both drivers return aiming to make the top step theirs again — and to keep it.
