Podium Finish for Charlie at GT4 Season Finale

Charlie Hart rounded off his debut GT4 European Series campaign with a podium finish at the season finale in Barcelona, marking a strong conclusion to an impressive first year in GT4 competition.

Following a strong performance where he topped the times in pre-qualifying the day before - Saturday was where it really mattered. Charlie initially sat in 2nd place before a track limits penalty removed his best lap, demoting him to start Race Two from P3 on the grid.

His teammate Callum handled qualifying duties for Race One, securing a P18 start. Despite the challenging grid position, Race One turned into one of the highlights of the season. A determined recovery drive saw Callum and Charlie charge through the field, executing a number of clean overtakes and maintaining consistent pace throughout.

Callum’s stint was hampered by two outings of the safety car which halted progress up the field. At the half way point Callum handed the car over to Charlie in P11 with 25 minutes on the clock. As the clock ran down to the final 15 minutes, he had his work cut out -ultimately charging from 9th through to 3rd which he clinched on the penultimate lap, delivering a nail biting performance from start to finish.

When the chequered flag fell, the pair had climbed an incredible fifteen positions to secure P3 — a result that reflected both strong racecraft and teamwork. Race Two started with high expectations from third on the grid, but contact from a Toyota on the opening lap forced Charlie off into the gravel.

The incident damaged the steering and ended their race early — a frustrating outcome given the pace shown throughout the weekend. Even so, to close the season with a podium at one of Europe’s most competitive GT4 events was a fitting reward for a year of progress.

Charlie’s debut GT4 campaign has been marked by consistency, composure, and steady development following two strong seasons in the Ginetta Junior Championship. Across both the main season and the earlier winter series, his performances have underlined his growth as a driver and his ability to deliver at a high level against experienced opposition.
